Gander Outdoors Owner Camping World Opening a ‘SuperCenter’ in Minnesota

The RV-focused retailer plans to open SuperCenters in Minnesota and in nearby Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The nation’s largest network of RV-centric retailers, Camping World Holdings, has announced intentions to enter the Minnesota and Wisconsin markets in 2019. The company plans to open “SuperCenters” in Baxter and in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Camping World is known for its array of RV and related camping gear products, as well as the and RV insurance and campground discounts and service it offers through its Good Sam business. However, locally, the company is better known as the owner of St. Paul-based Gander Mountain, which rebranded to Gander Outdoors last year.
Camping World’s new Minnesota and Wisconsin stores will add to the list of more than 140 “SuperCenters” the company currently owns and operates across 36 states.
“We have strengths and assets in our portfolio to expand on and are making consistent progress with our growth strategy to position our company for the future,” said Camping World’s chairman Marcus Lemonis in a statement. “We’re encouraged by recent market analysis and customer feedback and will continue to research new opportunities to deliver on areas best for the outdoor enthusiasts’ community.”
Going forward, Camping World plans to open additional SuperCenters in Georgia, Ohio, Louisiana, Kansas and Illinois by 2019 or sooner – with the Minnesota and Wisconsin stores scheduled to open by the first quarter of next year.
