Arts Picks: Long Day’s Journey into Night

The Guthrie Theater tackles Eugene O’Neill’s exploration of addiction and dysfunction.

For the first time in its history, the Guthrie Theater is tackling Eugene O’Neill’s masterful exploration of addiction and dysfunction. Written in the 1940s, when such issues weren’t discussed in polite society, the play chronicles the psychic meltdown of the Tyrone family during one particularly harrowing day at their seaside cottage. Joe Dowling directs; Helen Carey and Peter Michael Goetz star.
