Maybe you’re a die-hard fan of chocolate or vanilla ice cream. Zach Vraa is more of a caramelized-Cheetos-in-buttered-popcorn kind of guy. Vraa launched A to Z Creamery in 2020 after experimenting with an ice cream machine during the pandemic lockdown and posting his creations on social media. Five years later, he operates out of a commercial kitchen in Hopkins. A to Z operates on a scarcity model, and the limited-edition flavors—think pumpkin spice with cinnamon roll chunks, or cheesecake with rhubarb swirl—often sell out in minutes. (High-concept Instagram reels, produced with his collaborator Adam Klosterman, add to the viral effect.) Great news: Vraa plans to open a brick-and-mortar soft-serve shop in Hopkins in ’26 for folks who can’t build their week around ice cream “drops.”
