What really happens on the farm? Zach Johnson sought to answer that question with the launch of his Millennial Farmer channel on YouTube more than six years ago. What started out as an effort to counter misconceptions about GMOs, pesticides, and other modern farming methods has transformed into a full-fledged business for Johnson, whose video dispatches from the tractor seat or in the field (literally) have captured the attention of nearly 1 million subscribers. “I’m a full-time farmer and a full-time YouTuber,” says Johnson, a fifth-generation farmer in west-central Minnesota. In 2023, he plans to keep filming from the farm and adding more content to his second channel, Between the Rows, which is focused on motorsports.
