The Woke Coach

Before founding the Minneapolis-based anti-racism training consultancy The Woke Coach in 2018, Seena Hodges worked in the arts, first in New York on Broadway, then for the Guthrie Theatre, Theater Latte Da, Artistry MN, among others. As the new president of the board of trustees at the Walker Art Center—the first person of color in that role—she can bring together her passions with a focus on inclusion. “Art can be a great equalizer. Art bridges divides,” Hodges says. “Arts institutions get to help us tell the stories, but for so long, only certain stories were told, by the same people. We have an opportunity to have conversations with more intentionality.” Hodges’ book, From Ally to Accomplice, is due out in early 2022.
