Scott Lien has always had an “optimizer” mindset, focused on how everyday items and actions can be better and more efficient. Case in point: After seeing his elderly mother struggle with modern technology, he and his son, Isaac, founded GrandPad, a tablet catering to an older generation. GrandPad does 50% of its business direct-to-consumer through distributors like Amazon and the other half in the B2B health care space, selling to providers who are incorporating GrandPad into their care, Lien says. In 2023, GrandPad will be developing several apps to utilize technology to connect seniors and family.
