Duncan's career has come full circle. Forty-five years after bagging groceries at Albertsons in high school, and after a decade away from the grocery business running OfficeMax and ShopKo, Duncan bagged the title of CEO of SuperValu in February. Ironically, SuperValu sold its Albertsons brand as part of a $3.3 billion deal six weeks after Duncan assumed command. The sleeker SuperValu is left with a wholesale business, a discount brand and five regional grocery brands, including Cub Foods. We wonder how Duncan paid for a celebratory dinner--with paper or plastic?
