Nisha Botchwey

Incoming dean

Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota

After earning a master’s degree and Ph.D. in urban planning from the University of Pennsylvania, Nisha Botchwey served in a variety of teaching and administrative roles. This year she’s serving as associate dean for academic programs at Georgia Tech Professional Education. She begins her new job on the Minneapolis campus Jan. 10. Beyond listening to students, faculty, and staff about current needs, Botchwey says she wants to form partnerships with Humphrey alumni and businesses. In a nutshell, she says, she wants to work with “those individuals and institutions who have a stake in how public service, policy, and planning can advance the common good.”
