Description

After studying classics and religion at St. Olaf College, Lousene Hoppe earned a master’s from Luther Seminary before graduating from the University of Michigan Law School in 2006. At Minneapolis-based Fredrikson, she represents defendants accused of health care fraud, financial or tax crimes, and criminal felonies. She’s also serving a two-year term as president of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association. She says her advocacy organization will advise employers in the legal field to adopt best practices in promoting LGBTQ+ lawyers. “Despite significant advances over the last 15 years, much more needs to be done,” she says, “especially in regard to transgender and nonbinary people.”
