Elizabeth Emerson’s perspective on grassroots organizing was shaped by her service as a field coordinator for the late U.S. Sen. Paul Wellstone. Following a stint as a Minnesota House staffer, she shifted to lobbying work at a law firm. She’s been at St. Paul-based Goff Public since 2012, was named principal in 2022, and will lobby a 2023 Legislature with many new members. “Most state lawmakers are truly committed to bipartisan solutions to everyday problems,” Emerson says. She hopes to create change by helping her clients “tell meaningful stories, be creative and flexible in finding solutions, and be honest in creating relationships.”
