The holder of an MBA and an undergraduate music degree from Wayne State University in Michigan, Chris Harrington started his new job at the St. Paul music venue Nov. 1. The Ordway board was attracted to Harrington’s nine-year run at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. He was credited with greatly increasing ticket revenue and attracting more diverse audiences. The pandemic led to an 18-month closure of the Ordway. “Coming back to the theater will be a gradual process,” Harrington says. In his early months, he will listen to Ordway constituencies discuss how they want the Ordway to contribute to the cultural fabric of the Twin Cities.
