Anissa Keyes is always looking for ways to provide healing. She launched Minneapolis-based Arubah in 2012 to provide holistic mental well-being services to underserved communities whom traditional talk therapy doesn’t always reach. “When we think about emotional wellness, that includes how you take care of yourself, including your body,” she says. Her approach embraces diet, exercise, and complementary practices such as acupuncture and drumming. Keyes is now transforming a former bank building in the Camden neighborhood into the NorthSide Epicenter, which will house expansion space for Arubah and an incubator for Black-owned businesses providing healing and wellness services.
