As head of a holding company that owns two regional banks, Andy Schornack sees himself as an “enabler” for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses. Flagship Bank Minnesota, where Schornack is CEO, and Security Bank & Trust, where he’s president, primarily work in business banking, although both have smaller consumer operations. In June 2023, Schornack took on yet another title: Minnesota Bankers Association chair, which he sees as an important advocacy role. “We’ve got community banks across the state doing great works and financing great things,” he says. “I’m hoping to do a better job of sharing some of those good works.”
