Founder of The Woke Coach, a racial equity consultancy, Seena Hodges is an avid supporter of the arts. She brings passion and expertise to the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, where she has served on the board for six years, becoming the first person of color to hold the title of president. Hodges has helped the Walker board become more diverse. She also led efforts to create a racial equity committee and update its trustee on-boarding processes. She provided expert counsel to the museum in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. “She has made the Walker a more diverse, inclusive, welcoming, and fun place to be that better reflects the community in which we live and work,” says fellow board member Gregory Stenmoe. Hodges is also a member of the Black Trustee Alliance for Art Museums, an organization created to increase the inclusion of Black perspectives and narratives in North American art museums.
