Beyond his thriving practice, Mike Cavallaro has always made time to give back. In 2018, he took charge of pro bono activities for Barnes & Thornburg, overseeing all of the Minneapolis office’s efforts. Cavallaro helped develop partnerships with several local nonprofits, including the Tubman Safety Project, helping victims of domestic violence, and the Jeremiah Program, helping single mothers achieve prosperity. His efforts have helped increase the firm’s pro bono participation from 30% to 90%. In 2016, Cavallaro co-founded Outpatient Outfitters, a nonprofit providing clothing for homeless people as they leave Twin Cities hospitals.
