Katie Montag is responsible for developing and implementing the latest technological advancements to bring added value to Knutson Construction’s clients, partners, and internal team. She joined Knutson in 2017 as the building information modeling (BIM) manager and is now vice president of tech and innovation. Her leadership makes tech more approachable at the Minneapolis company, helping differentiate Knutson from other competitors. Her innovative tech strategies can be seen in different Knutson-led projects, from the North Loop bus garage to multiple Mayo Clinic projects. During the pandemic, she led the effort in virtual building inspections for the Minnesota Department of Health. With the use of a 3D video camera and a follow-up virtual meeting, Knutson completed the work with minimal foot traffic on the jobsite.
