Since co-founding mental health services company CARE Counseling in 2014, John Hutchinson has led its expansion to seven locations throughout Minnesota with 200 team members. St. Louis Park-based CARE ensures same-week availability for mental health care services. Hutchinson chairs CARE More, a nonprofit community initiative that covers the cost of textbooks for BIPOC students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in psychology. Hutchinson is also working to increase collaboration between insurance panels and mental health providers, with the goal of improving mental health treatment and reducing long-term health care costs. Spearheaded by Hutchinson, CARE launched a free resource hub for the mental health community for clinicians to use in telehealth sessions with patients.
