Before being named chief human resources officer in July, Eric Levenhagen had served as general counsel for Sun Country Airlines since 2016. In the past two years, a challenging period for the commercial airline industry, Levenhagen has delivered on many initiatives for the Minneapolis-based airline: He played a lead role in the company’s IPO, he was instrumental in Sun Country being the first airline to negotiate a contract with pilots post-Covid, he led contract negotiations with Amazon as a cargo carrier, and he took the lead on Sun Country’s lobbying efforts for the CARES Act. Outside of Sun Country, Levenhagen chairs the Leadership Minnesota Program with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, is vice-chair of the National Air Carrier Association, and sits on the dean’s board at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
