In 2022, Dr. Susan Pleasants stepped into the new role of senior vice president of optimal care, which brings together all parts of Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services to help deliver value-based care and achieve better outcomes at a lower cost for patients. This includes the responsibility of transitioning patients more efficiently to the right level of care without overburdening them before, during, or after their time at Fairview. Pleasants’ key projects include remote monitoring programs, the expansion of Fairview’s community paramedicine program, and the opening of acute and diagnostic services clinics. Pleasants is also a member of Fairview’s Pride Alliance Group for Equality. Before joining Fairview, she worked as staff at a new-client intake exam clinic at The Bridge for Youth, an emergency shelter for homeless youth with a focus on LGBTQ youth.
