Patrick Simon S. Soria has created lasting positive impacts in the nursing profession, both locally and internationally. As a member of the Minnesota Equitable Health Care Task Force, he is an advocate for the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, ensuring that their health care needs are addressed in public policy discussions. Appointed by Gov. Tim Walz, Soria became the first Filipino American registered board member on the Minnesota Board of Nursing. He has worked closely with nursing leaders to center initiatives such as nursing student enrollment, workforce shortages, and enhancing nursing practices. During the pandemic, he served as the lead architect of the surge capacity response protocol at the largest Covid referral hospital in the Philippines. This protocol became the benchmark for many hospitals, playing a crucial role in saving millions of lives.
