At Minneapolis-based Allina Health system, Ganesh Asaithambi has sought to expand access to expert specialized care. His efforts include partnering with Allina Health’s telehealth team to facilitate the growth of the teleneurology and telestroke programs, both of which allow specialized neurology physicians to provide care to communities across Minnesota and western Wisconsin. This has led to a greater number of patients accessing specialized care where they live, while also freeing space in Allina’s metro hospitals for emergent, critical care. Asaithambi has worked with EMS professionals to help them provide high-quality care for stroke cases. He also spearheaded a cerebrovascular care team, bringing together specialists from multiple disciplines to elevate the subspecialty care delivered to patients with complex neurological needs.
