Dave Rust has served as Salo’s CFO for four years, but the Minneapolis-based talent firm describes him as “much more than the numbers guy.” “He’s a mentor, trusted advisor, advocate, and champion of the Salo culture,” says CEO Lisa Brezonik. With Rust’s guidance, Salo has grown from primarily serving local clients to a high-growth company with national capabilities. Since Rust became CFO, Salo has grown at a compound rate of over 20%, more than doubling annual revenue and breaking into new geographic markets. Rust has been working on modifying Salo’s five-year growth plan. He leads regular diversity, equity, and inclusion conversations with his team and spends time mentoring Salo’s directors.
