A talent acquisition executive at Wells Fargo, Damu McCoy has a long history of community leadership. Since 2009, he’s been involved with Project for Pride in Living (PPL), a Minneapolis nonprofit helping lower-income families achieve stability, and is currently serving a three-year term on its executive committee. While serving as board chair from 2019–21, he provided critical guidance through emergency pivots of PPL housing, education, and career readiness programming. Thanks to McCoy, PPL was able to shift to remote operations for its 200 staff while maintaining an on-site presence for 1,500-plus units of affordable housing. PPL credits McCoy with helping advance racial equity, spearheading its DEI committee and increasing BIPOC representation from 15% to 44%. McCoy’s other board appointments include Children’s Minnesota Hospital and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.
