For Carrie Lambert, her role at Breakthrough T1D (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), is personal: Her son, Louie, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he started kindergarten in 2016. After this life-altering event, Lambert, partner at Minneapolis law firm Robins Kaplan, joined the Bloomington nonprofit as a volunteer to help fundraise for its One Walk event through her family’s Team Super Lou. She’s since spearheaded fundraising efforts for the One Walk and the Hope Gala events, raising more than $250,000 through Team Super Lou. She also co-hosted the Hope Gala in 2021 and 2022, which collectively raised nearly $3 million. She continues to serve as the chair of the nominating and board committee.
