Brian Maxwell’s financial expertise, drawing from more than 20 years of banking experience, has allowed Abbey’s Hope to make a significant impact on water safety initiatives across Minnesota and nationwide. As a board member for the Edina-based nonprofit for more than a decade, including time as treasurer, Maxwell takes on ambitious initiatives with enthusiasm, as when he produced PSAs during the pandemic or had to acquire 10,000 life jackets. “A nonprofit can have all kinds of world-changing ideas, but the reality is all of that is dependent on funding,” says director of operations Alison Petri. “Brian’s diligence when it comes to watching the markets, accounts, and our needs has made our big ideas … into realities.” Maxwell is currently market president at Gateway Bank.
