With nearly 30 years of experience in finance leadership roles across public corporations and not-for-profits, Brenda McCormick joined Children’s Minnesota in 2019. As CFO, she has led several initiatives including the redesign of the revenue capture process, insourcing the billing and collection department to improve the patient-family experience, and instigating scenario planning and risk-based analysis in the forecasting process. As a member of the executive leadership team, she helped set, shape, and guide the organization’s recent strategic plan. Early in her tenure, she restructured the Minneapolis-based nonprofit system’s debt portfolio with its first taxable issuance, which reduced the overall interest rate and overall risk, secured $124 million to support the strategic plan, and provided $18.4 million in net present value savings.
