Beth Lindborg

Co-founder and CEO, Sarcio Inc.

Description

Beth Lindborg is the CEO and co-founder of Sarcio Inc., a regenerative medicine company developing a first-in-class disease-modifying therapy for osteoarthritis. The medical startup was spun off from the University of Minnesota’s Stem Cell Institute, where Sarcio’s cartilage cells were first discovered in the laboratory of Dr. Timothy O’Brien, her founding partner. Over the past year, Lindborg has raised more than $1 million from investors and $430,000 in non-dilutive grants that have enabled the company to generate critical pre-clinical data that demonstrates the therapeutic potential of its lead asset and more toward human clinical trials. A first-time CEO, Lindborg is proving adept at overcoming the scientific, technical, and financial hurdles faced by biotech startups.
