In his 13 years with the Minneapolis-based law firm, Ben D. Kappelman has led Dorsey & Whitney to victory across industries. In the past year, he has argued before the Minnesota Supreme Court in a case that residents and former residents of North Minneapolis brought against the city, alleging it engages in racial discrimination by under-resourcing housing inspections in that neighborhood. At press time, he was representing the National Collegiate Athletic Association in cases challenging eligibility rules governing how long college athletes can participate in their sports. His litigation portfolio spans environmental, intellectual property, employment, and health care disputes, as well as work with Native American tribes.
