Athena Mihas joined Greater Twin Cities United Way in 2015, becoming CFO in 2019. In that role, she oversees the Minneapolis-based organization’s teams responsible for delivery of financial services, information services, facility management, and support services. She has led United Way’s partnership with the state of Minnesota in administering the Early Learning Scholarship program, which the company says distributes more than $100 million annually to childcare providers statewide. Her leadership played a pivotal role in United Way’s recent emergency response campaigns, allowing the organization to rapidly disburse more than $1.15 million to communities impacted by disrupted federal food assistance and by Operation Metro Surge.
