From serving as a bank intern during high school to becoming a bank teller and working her way up to vice president of finance, Amara Mackey developed a passion for finance early in her career that drove her to learn every aspect of the industry. That’s proven invaluable to her leadership role today at Ideal Credit Union in Woodbury. The credit union has grown with her, marking $1 billion in assets this year. Mackey helps ensure a strong foundation for the credit union and its members, and is known for her ability to lead high-performing and engaged teams. Recently, she helped transform Ideal’s core bank processing platform, implementing new process management to successfully integrate a critical new banking function.
