Amalia Moreno-Damgaard, founder and CEO of Amalia Latin Gourmet, is the first Latina president of the Minnesota chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). Since joining in 2020, Moreno-Damgaard has dedicated herself to advancing the organization’s mission of connecting women business owners from diverse backgrounds with the resources they need for business growth. She’s introduced initiatives that prioritize DEI; that includes increases in membership and fostering a diverse community while expanding partnerships and enhancing events and programs. “I am consistently amazed by her ability to prioritize what truly matters,” says NAWBO-MN executive director Jackie Engmark. Moreno-Damgaard also mentors entrepreneurs in NAWBO’s Catalyst Fund Scholarship program.
