Following a 15-year career in key leadership positions at Fortune 500 companies and law firms, Al Cornish brought his expertise to the venture capital and startup landscape. As the first African American managing partner at gener8tor, a global venture capital firm and startup accelerator, Cornish oversees strategy for one of the nation’s largest startup accelerators. He also serves as the general partner of the MSP Equity Fund, which invests in high-growth Black-, brown-, and women-led startups. His efforts have helped raise more than $10 million for the MSP Equity Fund, driving economic empowerment and growth among underrepresented entrepreneurs in Minnesota. Cornish spearheaded the MSP Equity Accelerator, a local program designed to nurture BIPOC- and women-led startups. Cornish also serves on the Launch Minnesota advisory committee and the board of Turning Point.
