Abdul Omari

Board chair, Achieve Twin Cities

Description

Founder and principal of Twin Cities leadership development group AMO Enterprise, Abdul Omari devotes himself to civic and public service. Much of his community involvement stems from his passion and advocacy work for equity and collaboration. Omari chairs the board of Achieve Twin Cities, a Minneapolis nonprofit dedicated to equipping young people with full and equitable access to postsecondary education and career opportunities. He’s been involved with the organization for nine years. As vice chair from 2019–22, he played a key role in Achieve’s expansion to St. Paul public schools, doubling its reach and size. “Whether it is chairing a board meeting, speaking to a group of students, or mentoring young people, Abdul is focused on bringing people together and forward,” says Danielle Grant, president and CEO of Achieve Twin Cities. Omari also serves on the University of Minnesota Foundation board of trustees.
