At Allina Health, based in Minneapolis, Ann Byre leads pharmacy and laboratory strategies and services across the greater Twin Cities. With help from Byre and her team, Allina has established a profitable retail pharmacy division and an internal dually accredited specialty pharmacy, which Allina reports has grown substantially under Byre. She started in 2009 as director of Allina Health Pharmacies, as the company’s retail pharmacies struggled; Byre believed it should stay in the business, eventually resulting in growth. Her role leading pharmacy has expanded to include a direct reporting relationship with Allina’s COO and such leadership responsibilities as oversight of Allina Health Laboratory, which delivers laboratory services.
