Description

Calling herself a “poster-child millennial,” Jamie Millard finds talented candidates to succeed people who’ve been leading some of Minnesota’s key nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. A generational handoff is underway as baby boomers retire. “The next generation will lead with empathy, transparency, and urgency,” Millard says. “The strongest candidates today aren’t defined by their titles. They’re defined by how they’ve adapted through disruption.” One of her highest-profile searches was finding Benya Kraus, named in May to succeed former Congressman Tim Penny as president of the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation. In 2026, she says, “we have to open our aperture more broadly on how we evaluate and assess leadership potential.”
