Mustafa Sheikh isn’t necessarily reinventing the wheel with rideshare startup Hich, but he aims to balance the interests of capital with the interests of labor, a component he says is missing for current rideshare giants. Bloomington-based Hich introduced a subscription model for drivers, intended to provide more transparency about costs and profit. Twenty percent of Hich is owned by drivers, to boost incentives and hold ownership accountable, says Sheikh: “We are trying to be a test model that conscious capitalism works.” Launched in October, Hich has added more than 600 drivers in Minnesota.
