With more than 20 years of experience in information security, litigation advisory services, and audit, Mary Elizabeth Faulkner oversees information security and IT operations to protect clients of Minneapolis-based Thrivent. She’s elevated how information security shows up as a strategic business partner across the financial services organization and spearheaded informed strategic risk conversations through data. Faulkner introduced the tenets of the factor analysis information risk (FAIR) methodology to drive informed decision-making and help Thrivent better assess and predict the return on value for risk decisions and investments, and she serves on the board of directors of the FAIR Institute. Colleagues describe Faulkner as a leader who believes “walking the halls” and building authentic relationships at all levels is critical. She is passionate about using her position to advocate for and inspire women to begin their careers in risk and security.
