Ben Jordan is a social guy. But back more than a decade ago, when the craft beer boom brought about beers higher and higher in alcohol, Jordan found himself looking for alternatives. So he created a machine to remove the alcohol from the beer he’d bring to parties. In 2017, Jordan learned there was an increased demand for nonalcoholic drink options while attending a craft brewers conference. Flash-forward three years, and one-third of Minnesota’s craft breweries use Jordan’s ABV Technology equipment to create their own alcohol-free versions of their favorite brews. Up next: Jordan says ABV Technology will expand further into alcohol-free wine and spirits. “It’s about having those tastes and sensations without having the strong alcohol,” he says.
