Following a 12-year career as an Emmy Award-winning television news reporter, Kristi Piehl launched Media Minefield in 2010. The full-service Minnetonka-based public relations agency specializes in story-centered marketing with an emphasis on earned media, social media, digital advertising, and crisis communication. Prioritizing mental health and flexibility, Piehl led the shift to a full-time flexible hybrid work environment and launched MM Unplugged to ensure each employee has at least one weekday off each month. She also created Voices, an ongoing company initiative focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. A founding member of the Women in Entrepreneurship Institute, Piehl hosts the podcast Flip Your Script, interviewing people who are inspired by a critical turning point in their life.
