Unemployment Rate Unchanged In March
Minnesota’s unemployment rate remained unchanged in March at 3.7 percent, according to the latest figures by the state’s Department of Employment and Economic Development.
Â
It’s the eighth straight month the rate has recorded that number, despite employers adding nearly 7,800 jobs and the labor force participation rate ticking up to a 70.5 percent high.
Â
Educations and health care realized the most gains at 5,800 jobs. Professional and business services and construction saw job losses.
Â
Over the past year, the state has added nearly 51,000 jobs, a growth rate of 1.9 percent. That lags the national job growth rate of 2.3 percent, though unemployment throughout the United States is higher at 5.5 percent.
