Mohamed Omar is the first chief operating officer at ServeMinnesota, which is responsible for annually securing and sub-granting tens of millions of dollars in federal funding. Omar has grown the Minneapolis organization’s federal funding portfolio as that funding landscape has shifted. He also has strengthened the nonprofit’s HR and staffing strategy while helping ServeMinnesota to modernize. “He understands how to make good organizations stronger, more effective, more capable of delivering on their mission,” ServeMinnesota CEO Julia Quanrud says. “He leads with warmth, pragmatism, a strong moral compass, and relentless optimism and faith in our community.”
