Michelle Edgerton has reshaped the oulook for fundraising at the Minneapolis-based YMCA of the North, one of the five biggest YMCAs globally. Specifically, Edgerton has recently driven record fundraising performance while strengthening the Y’s long-term philanthropic health: From 2023 to 2025, the organization raised nearly $117 million, with 2024 ranking as its third-highest fundraising year in history and its largest year outside of a campaign. In 2025, the Y also exceeded all goals, meeting 102% of its annual fund goal, 125% of its annual endowment giving goal, and 109% of its active donor engagement goal. Edgerton’s stewardship resulted in all 44 board members contributing $1.7 million total in 2025.
