PNC Regional President Kate Kelly to Retire
Kate Kelly, Twin Cities regional president for Pittsburgh-based PNC Bank, is slated to retire from her role before year’s end.
On Tuesday, the bank announced that Kelly will retire on Dec. 15. She’s worked in the banking industry for 30 years, six of them with PNC. In a statement, PNC officials said that Kelly’s “relationships and influence helped embed the bank’s philanthropic and strategic community investments in the region.”
Outside of her job at PNC, Kelly has played an active role in the Women Corporate Directors group, which aims to increase the number of women serving on boards. Most recently, the group spearheaded a new initiative to boost the number of women of color in board positions.
Before her time at PNC, TCB in 2016 gave Kelly a Women’s Leadership Award for her work founding Minnesota Bank & Trust.

“Kate’s accomplishments in the greater Minnesota area have helped us build our business and deliver for more customers in the region, and helped amplify and direct our philanthropic and community investments to drive impact,” said Scott Swanson, PNC Office of the Regional Presidents Midwest territory executive, in the statement.
Meanwhile, Kelly McQueen, PNC’s head of corporate banking for Minnesota, will add regional president to her title. Kelly will transition her duties to McQueen over the coming weeks. For her part, McQueen joined PNC in 2017 and also serves on several boards, including Twin Cities in Motion, SHE Brands Live, and the U of M’s Northrup performing arts center.
