Outsell Prioritizes Hybrid Teamwork at New Downtown Office
Despite almost doubling its workforce since the onset of the pandemic, Outsell recently cut the size of its downtown Minneapolis office in half, focusing on a team-oriented workspace for the hybrid work era.
The automotive marketing software company moved from a 27,000-square-foot space spanning a floor and a half at Capella Tower to an 11,000-square-foot office 16 floors below.
“Especially in hybrid workspaces, when you come to work, you want to be seen, and you want to be found, and you want to be connected.”

Since the pandemic, many Outsell employees come to the office once a week or once every other week, says Mike Wethington, founder and CEO. He doesn’t see going back to full-time in-person work anytime soon. Outsell employs around 170 people, half of whom are based in Minneapolis.
“The ability to be more of a hybrid workforce is actually great for us,” Wethington says.
Designed by Studio BV, a third of the new office is dedicated to team space.
“Especially in hybrid workspaces, when you come to work, you want to be seen, and you want to be found, and you want to be connected,” says Studio BV founder and CEO Betsy Vohs.

She reimagined some meeting rooms as lounge-like gathering spaces. Others are optimized for screensharing and connecting with team members outside the office.
Visitors are greeted in the lobby by a custom graphic with blue and white cloud icons representing what Vohs describes as “the notion of transformation.” The reference is especially fitting, as Outsell was acquired in June by AI customer management company Impel in a deal valued at more than $100 million. Outsell will continue to operate out of its Minneapolis office.
