The RANGER XP Kinetic is the first electric utility task vehicle (UTV).

It’s the kind of vehicle Minnesotans can’t help but get excited about. In December, off-road giant Polaris launched the electric-powered RANGER XP Kinetic at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Compared to earlier models, this new UTV provides more power, bigger payloads, and “unrivaled durability,” says Chris Judson, vice president of the Medina-based company’s off-road vehicles division. The electric model is quiet, so hunters won’t scare away animals when driving to camp. “Not only is it a great work vehicle—and that’s what a lot of these vehicles are built for—but it was so much fun to ride,” Judson says “The ability to apply the electric power to the ground and that exhilarating riding experience you get just makes it a ton of fun.” The RANGER quickly sold out in its first round; Polaris plans to release more of the vehicles later this year.
