THC has been a hot topic in Minnesota after the state Legislature explicitly passed new regulations that allow the production and sale of hemp-derived THC edibles in 2022. Jason Tarasek, who founded Minnesota Cannabis Law in 2018, lobbied for that legislation. Tarasek also serves on the board of directors of the Minnesota Cannabis Association and has helped draft legislation to legalize recreational marijuana for adults in Minnesota; the state officially legalized it in late spring. The longtime attorney will continue his work with state leaders to create regulatory structures around cannabis use in Minnesota. “I think most people agree we can’t continue in the manner we’re proceeding right now, where you have no licensing requirements.”
