Armando Camacho, a native of Puerto Rico who grew up on the West Side of St. Paul, was chosen in 2020 to lead the Wilder Foundation. He had developed his leadership skills in the nonprofit sector in top roles with Neighborhood House and Opportunity Partners. During the pandemic, he says, St. Paul-based Wilder adapted to deliver its mental health and housing services remotely, while keeping open its Child Development Center as well as other services for older adults. “Going forward,” he says, “Wilder is focused on helping families get the support they need all in one place.”
