In its first two years of business, Minneapolis-based startup Rae Wellness products landed on shelves at national retailers including Target and amassed more than 160,000 TikTok followers, and a growing direct-to-consumer fanbase, all while raising a $9.5 million Series A funding round. Co-founder Angie Tebbe is just getting started. “I believe that if you’re going to start something from scratch, dream big,” says Tebbe, a former Target merchant who saw an opportunity to create a brand that spoke to women in their 20s and 30s “who aren’t putting themselves on the priority list because they’re busy with life and conquering the world.” Rae sells natural supplements—capsules packed with turmeric, chamomile, lavender, vitamins, and more—to address big issues including stress, sleep, digestion, and sex drive. She’s already talking to investors about the next raise. “Our business model is around scale and retail presence.”
