About Us
Since 1967, Minnesota Public Radio has informed, inspired and engaged citizens as a trusted convener, storyteller and sense-maker. Throughout 2017, we’ll celebrate 50 years of bringing audiences editorially independent journalism, innovative arts and cultural programming, national and international reporting, and music insight that can’t be found anywhere else.

Support from loyal listeners, donors and funders has enabled MPR I APM to serve audiences with distinctive on-air, online and live programming. We reach audiences through three award-winning regional services—MPR News, Classical MPR and The Current—along with our American Public Media (APM) portfolio, including Marketplace, The Splendid Table, A Prairie Home Companion, Performance Today, The Dinner Party Download, the BBC World Service and more.

In late 2015, we launched APM Reports, a new reporting unit dedicated exclusively to documentary and investigative journalism. Find APM Reports’ powerful storytelling and investigations at APMreports.org.
Some of our most popular podcasts include Brains On! (a science podcast for kids and curious adults), The Current’s Song of the DayThe Writer’s AlmanacThe Splendid Table and The Dinner Party Download.

MPR I APM is committed to our public service tradition and to serving more people in our changing communities with relevant, trusted journalism and inspiring and breakthrough music for generations to come.
