A hotel ballroom was decorated in a Moroccan oasis theme for an event in which event professionals were the guests. The client wanted the typical ballroom space to be unrecognizable. Thousand of feet of multi-colored fabric hung from a ring attached to the ceiling, creating a tent effect. A cone of white lights hung from the center of the drape. Tall, white canvas palm trees illuminated by fuschia lighting marked the entrance, and gold and fuschia canopies helped to designate seating areas.

The client wanted various stations where guests at the event could mingle. Attendees started at bars in the center of the room and moved to buffet tables at either end of the space, which were lit by orange and hot pink lighting. One seating area incorporated eight-foot votive walls that showcased more than 400 pink, orange, and amber votive candles. A “hookah lounge,” under a fuschia and orange canopy, featured a live Twitter station, contemporary seating with colorful pillows, palm plants, and miniature hookah pipes.

Behind the illuminated dessert buffet, tall white columns were lit in pink and orange, and featured the client’s branding.
